International Committee

The Board has from the year 2013-2014 in its policy that it seriously wants to work with internationalization. Hence a new Commission has been set: the International Commission. It will inform everything related to international students study and city to be there for them a year as smoothly as possible out of it. She organizes at the beginning of the year the event ‘ Meeting Maastricht ‘, in which a group of international students get a tour through the city and discover the many bars that Maastricht has to offer. The hobbyhorse of the International Commission is to set up an international company day.

FIRM Committee

The FIRM editorial gives four times a year the magazine the ” FIRM ” out. They are responsible for accessing writers of scientific articles, articles by graduate tax specialists about the ‘ practice ‘, reports of activities organised by FIRST Maastricht, Association news, and more!

Studytrip Committee

After an unforgettable trip to Athens in the year 2014-2015 will in the academic year of 2015-2016 no study trip.

In the past, broadened her horizons FIRST Maastricht and its boundaries through a study trip with the destination under more Istanbul (2013), Moscow (2011) and New York City (2009). The purpose of our study tour to offices elsewhere in the world to visit to you in this way to give an impression of the work abroad. As a result, we offer students the optimal occasion their possible options as to their future course. We travel with 24 members of FIRST Maastricht to a fiscal interesting destination where we of course remember to the city and the surrounding area and night life. For the participating students obligatory office visit to the sponsor (s) of the journey take place in Netherlands, before we visit during our study trip the foreign establishment. If travel Committee are you so with a team of five in charge of organizing the trip from A to Z after a location is chosen in consultation with the Board.

Lustrum Committee

This academic year will be the 5th anniversary of FIRST Maastricht. The anniversary Committee is responsible to organize and promote these festivities and activities. There will be organized a ski trip and a lustrum week.

PR Committee

The PR-Committee of FIRST Maastricht has various tasks at different times in the year. The main task of this Committee is the recruitment of new members at the beginning of the academic year. The year is directly active started by presence on the introduction days for new students. Also, the Commission members in different education groups give a short presentation about FIRST Maastricht. During the year the PR-Committee will contribute to the promotion of various activities of FIRST Maastricht, as the FIRST Tax company day. It is the Organization of the annual Open party in the hands of this Committee.

Conduct Audit Committee

The Auditors FIRST Maastricht has the task to check the accounts of the Treasurer. They do this twice a year. First, before the bi-annual general meeting including the financial half-year report presented and at the wisselling of directors where the production is presented.

Alumni Committee

This year, the Board has taken the initiative to the alumni Committee. This new Commission will organize in Amsterdam in the first year a drink special for all alumni of FIRST Maastricht.

The purpose of this activity is an accessible way for alumni to a built up to maintain and extend the network with other alumni of FIRST Maastricht. It is also an ideal way to keep in touch with each other and thus knowledge and exchange experiences and, not to mention, beautiful memories from your time as a student in Maastricht.

Symposium Committee

This year will again organize a symposium with the subject FIRST Maastricht a topical tax theme. In the past was attention paid to Gain understanding & Transfer Pricing (2014), fraud and abuse in the European VAT (2012) and Mergers & Acquisitions in Europe (2010). It was the central theme from different points of view approached with guest speakers from various angles such as the science, the tax practice and politics. The symposium Committee has the honor to this day. They are therefore responsible for the tenders, the choice of the theme, its speakers, the recruitment dinner or lunch, the location and transport.

In the first place, we represent as students tax law within the Education Committee of the Faculty of Law students of tax law (both Bachelor’s and Master’s) at Maastricht University in the representative bodies. In addition, the students consideration a place in which we discuss certain matters with each other on the agendas of those organs. The main responsibility of the Education Committee is monitoring the quality of the training programme. This is done by opinion on the education program. Of course we also make use of the possibility in those organs to wear as business on the agenda. To this end, within the Student Council at the beginning of the year a work plan, in which is recorded when the students consideration that year going to focus and who is responsible for the State of affairs of certain subjects. During the year are working hard to make it happen.

When you have a place in the ” OC FE ” occupied, then fulfill your actually two roles. In the first place, we represent as fiscal economics students in the Education Committee of the School of Business and Economics students of fiscal Economics (both Bachelor’s and Master’s) to Maastricht University. The main responsibility of the Education Committee is monitoring the quality of the training programme. This is done by opinion within the Programme Committee on proposals of the University considered that approval of our body need before it can be implemented. Of course we also make use of the possibility in those organs to wear as business on the agenda. To this end, within the Student Council at the beginning of the year a work plan, in which is recorded when the students consideration that year going to focus and who is responsible for the State of affairs of certain subjects.

In addition, we as students of the Education Committee met in the student discussion in which we with the Faculty Council and the Student Advisor to the Board of the School of Business and Economics to discuss certain matters on the agendas of those organs. So we bring each other of the issues that play within the different organs. Everyone wears business to that play within the faculty, for example, can be improved in terms of facilities and form task groups to action.
